The most appropriate actions to take to reduce the likelihood of wildfire within semi-natural habitats in England, is a subject of debate. This report reviews a set of proposals for wildfire mitigation in the English Peak District National Park. This is an area where wildfires often occur and is subject to large numbers of visitors each year. This area also contains vegetation habitats of international importance for their contribution to biodiversity. The report discusses the assumptions made for wildfire mitigation, the strengths and weaknesses of the approach and concludes with recommendations for further work.
