The principal objectives of this work were to:
- carry out a survey of selected areas in southern England focusing on the Isle of Wight, the Lizard and Land’s End Peninsulas, the Fal and Fowey estuaries and the Isles of Scilly;
- provide a more comprehensive picture of the species’ true distributional range in Britain and allow a more informed conservation and management policy to be developed; and
- to review the position of Paludinella littorina as a species scheduled on the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
This report describes the results of the 2000 survey and also includes data gathered from other sites from 1990 to 2001. A printed copy is available from our Enquiry Service. Tel: 0845 600 3078 Email: enquiries@naturalengland.org.uk
