English Nature was the Government funded body the purpose of which was to promote the conservation of England’s wildlife and natural features. this was achieved by taking action ourselves and by working through and enabling others.
English Nature’s total budget for 2005/2006 was £89.7m. This budget is made up of £84.1m Grant in Aid from Defra (including £3.8m from the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund) and £5.6m in other receipts.
